In 2007, Caliber was selected by BCBusiness Magazine to develop a new model for determining which companies in BC should be recognized as being "the best to work for in the province". This honour recognized Caliber for its track record in leadership development, cultural change and employee engagement. Caliber was selected due to its unique approach and tools.
This provided Caliber with the opportunity to support hundreds of businesses throughout the province to understand what differentiates top employers as well as to access feedback from their employees through the selection process. Employees from each participating organization participated in a survey, and Caliber provided detailed reports and meaningful interpretation to ensure companies could make use of this data.
While under Caliber's leadership, the participation of companies seeking to earn this illustrious designation doubled. Leaders from over 200 organizations came out to workshops conducted by Caliber to learn more about the organization's at the top of the list as well as to determine what steps their firms needed to take. Also, in recognition of the importance of smaller businesses to the province, a second category or listing of top companies was created for those organizations with less than 100 employees.
Beginning in 2009, Mindfield Group took over from Caliber the administration of the survey, however, they continue to use the model and processes developed by Caliber. The process is a great opportunity for businesses to showcase their practices and to benchmark themselves against others who strive to be the best.
